BASICS OF SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY
Disability Insurance Premiums and Supplemental Security Income are two services offered by the Social Security Administration to help with disability benefits.
Disabled workers who have worked five out of the last ten years are eligible for Disability Insurance Coverage. Go to www.ssa.gov/myaccount to see whether you qualify for Disability Insurance Benefits and how much you are eligible for. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a government-funded program that helps people who are in need. Individuals with disabilities are entitled to apply if they fulfill the financial requirements.

Social Security will decide whether your physical and/or psychological problems prevent you from working consistently eight hours a day, five days a week.
SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY CLAIMS PROCESS
Your application for Social Security Disability benefits will be reviewed in three stages:
Stage 1: Initial application: A doctor from the state agency will review the medical records. It usually takes three to six months for this study to reach a conclusion.
Stage 2 - Reconsideration: A doctor from the State Agency will review the application once more. It can take up to three months for this analysis to be completed.
Stage 3 - Hearing in front of an Administrative Law Judge: The Judge will listen to the attorney's claims while taking into account medical facts and doctor opinions.
